The Ottawa-Gatineau National Capital Region is home to about one million people.  Within it, we can find virtually every nationality, race, and religious background.   With entire communities of different nationalities, Ottawa is a microcosm of the world. And the GTA  is 3-4 times even more so!

In our roles as wedding officiants, we have planned weddings  for many couples of a range of ethnicities and religious backgrounds.  All of Ottawa's and the GTA's rich diversity have brought their traditions and culture to their wedding ceremonies.

Should you or your future spouse have an ethnic identity, we encourage you to proudly show it.  If some of your families speak a language other than English, then one or both of the readings used during your ceremony can be in that language.  There's no need to provide an interpretation in English - the beauty of the language will speak for itself. 

We've seen wedding audiences enjoy readings in French, Hindi, Finnish, Italian, Greek, German, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic, just to name a few.  And when vocalists sing in any of these languages the effect is greater still. Couples having a Scottish background have entered, and exited, with a bagpiper preceding them. For those of Jewish heritage, the breaking of the glasses as shown below, is easily incorporated into the ceremony and enjoyed by all guests.
