The reality of many marriages today is that they bring children immediately into the new family unit. In some cases, they are from former relationships while often they are from the current relationship. As such, the marriage is the joining of multiple lives together and your ceremony can directly address that reality.

For younger children, it can be a simple as making reference to them in your vows. Older children can actually be referenced and asked to affirm their support for the marriage with their own special "I do". Involving them in the ceremony has the effect of making the marriage complete.

During the signing of documents, we can prepare a certificate that the children are asked to sign and photographs can be taken of their participation in this part of the ceremony. As well, you might consider presenting each of the children with some type of medaillion to further mark the occasion for them.
