Believe it or not, the marriage paperwork is really the key to making a wedding legal and not the ceremony itself. While completing all of the associated paperwork for a marriage usually takes far longer than the ceremony itself, we do try to make it less overwhelming. Once we receive your marriage license from you, we can prepare most of the documentation prior to the actual ceremony at which we usually will need to sit you and your witnesses down, briefly or optionally you can stand as shown below.

The signing actually provides a welcome break in proceedings when everybody can relax somewhat while the various signatures are obtained before ceremony concludes. SInce this is also a traditional photo time, you can prepare your venue to maximize this opportunity during your ceremony. If you have musicians or CD music, this is a good time for a musical interlude.

We will guide you and your witnesses through the different places where your signatures and other information must be collected. We'll even back off so that your photographers won't have to pose us into your shots. Relax and ham it up a bit. It will be fun for everyone.

We can even produce souvenir certificates for signature and retention by children participating in the ceremony so that their involvement helps solidify their buy-in to the marriage as well as provide a warm visual expression for all of your other guests.

For ceremonies that will be later enacted outside of Ontario, such as western Quebec or Destination Weddings in the Caribbean or Mexico, it essential that all of the legal documents be first signed while you are physically still inside Ontario. We will guide you through the process that has been successfully applied for decades to ensure that all legal requirements are observed.
