As many ceremonies at which we officiate are ones in which there is some flexibility as to the seating arrangements, we encourage couples to explore the options as to what will work best for them.
Where possible, we suggest that the bridal party be about six to eight feet to the guests in the first row so that the closeness of the families is conveyed. The diagram to the right displays what most people will routinely set up for a wedding ceremony.
A much better arrangement is where the first and second seats from the first row are removed, as well as the first seat from the second row on each side. This improves the setup substantially by creating an open area that increases the visibility of the bridal party for most guests and the photographers.
In this third variation, you can see how adjusting the seating diagonally further opens up the viewing of the bridal party and conveys the inclusiveness of the guests that you want to achieve in your marriage ceremony
